Accreditation/Certification
Accreditation and certification systems provide organisations with a framework to develop the quality and safety of services they offer. This can result in public recognition of their achievements. With its many years of hands on experience, Health Care Informed works as your partner to maximise the benefits and achieve the outcomes to your organisation.
Unlike inspection, or licensure processes, accreditation requires organisations to strive for levels of excellence.
Organisations who utilise accreditation systems are looking for continuous improvement of the quality and safety of care.
Today there are a multitude of accreditation and certification models which are available to healthcare providers. These include, to name but a few:
- CHKS Accreditation
- Joint Commission International Accreditation
- ISO 9001:2008
- ISO 15189:2003
- Clinical Pathology Accreditation
- Healthcare Area Specific Accreditation
- Healthcare Licensure/Certification
Health Care Informed works with organisations to determine what is most applicable and beneficial to them. Central to this is the understanding that all frameworks are only as beneficial as how the organisation approaches it. Pursuing accreditation to achieve an award will only result in an organisation finding difficulties. Approached as a means to improve, can only result in benefits!
Upon determining the appropriate accreditation framework HCI develops a project plan for implementation. Outcomes, priorities, resources, and timeframes are included in the project plan. As part of the project, HCI provides the following support and assistance:
On-Site Support
To assist in the project development HCI works on-site with the key members of staff to assure maximum efficacy in the development of such areas as, for example:
- Project Planning – including Gap Analysis and Work Plan Creation.
- Structure Development – including Governance Mechanism and Infrastructure.
- Process Development – including Policy and Procedure development and document control.
- Outcome Evaluation Mechanisms – including Internal Audits and Key Performance Indicators.
- Quality Improvement Planning – including Strategic and Operational Planning.
On-site Education and Training Programmes

- Incident/Non-Conformance Reporting
- Quality Improvement Tools and Techniques
- Document Control Systems
- Change Control
Support Frameworks and Documentation
To maximise the development cycle HCI provides specific frameworks and documentation required for the development of Quality and Safety Management Systems. These include, for example:
- Strategic and Operational Plans
- Quality related Policy and Procedure Templates
- Service Level Agreement Templates
- Change Control Documentation
- Internal Audit/Assessments
- QMS Forms and Records
