The person in charge (PIC) is a role of fundamental importance in providing good quality care (HIQA, 2018). Over the last number of years HIQA have found that where a service is well-governed, there is good outcomes for people living in the service.

Under the Health Act, the PIC has specific duties and responsibilities. HCI’s Becoming a PIC – Theory and Practice Training is designed to educate incoming / new PIC’s on their role and responsibilities under the current legislation.

Who should attend this training?

This training is relevant to PICs in nursing homes and disability services.

Training Delivery

Training shall be delivered through presentations, workshops and interactive sessions.
