ISQua Conference 2009

Health Care Informed (HCI) joined over 1000 international delegates at the 26th International ISQua Conference –Designing for Quality, which was held in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin on 10th to 13th October.  It was a busy week jammed with seminars, workshops and presentations on all aspects of Quality and Safety in Healthcare and was an exciting opportunity to learn about best practice in quality in healthcare from all around the world.

"Now we're talking" - HCI & ISQSH practical toolkit for public and patient involvement in healthcare

15th of July 2009:  Now We're Talking is a practical toolkit aimed at helping any healthcare professional who wishes to assess, implement and improve a programme of public and patient involvement in their organisation. Developed in conjunction with the Irish Society for Quality and Safety in Healthcare (ISQSH) the toolkit provides a framework and practical methodologies for developing patient partnerships. Tools and techniques covered include focus groups, patient diaries, surveys and expert patients. The need for health service staff to develop their skills in involving service users has been identified as a key goal in the HSE's 'National Strategy for Service User Involvement in the Irish Health Service' (2008).
