Risk Management
The need to "First Do No Harm" is the underlining principle of all aspects of the care and service we provide. Unfortunately, however, adverse events still occur.
Health Care Informed, in conjunction with ECRI Research Institute, works with organisations to help them learn from these events and minimise the effects.
Risk Management incorporates all aspects of services which relate to the provision of incident free activities. That may relate to the patient/client, staff, or visitors.
HCI provides practical support in relation to clinical risk as well as non-clinical risk such as health and safety.
The occurrence of any safety incident within a healthcare provider has serious implications for all involved, from the patient to the staff, to the organisation itself. In order to limit the likelihood of incidents occurring organisations must give consideration to the types of risk that surround it. Through the use of practical methodologies, HCI works with healthcare providers to minimise these risks.
As part of an overall safety programme, organisations must put in place a strategy to minimise risk and increase safety. This strategy must consider how safety is monitored, what education is required, how deficiencies are addressed and how to we make changes. Once this has been determined the strategy must be put into effect. Health Care Informed can help your organisation from strategy development to implementation and beyond.
